Destroying and Rebuilding AltarsWhat does type and shadow mean? The Lord uses much of the Old Testament to teach us through what I call “type and shadow.” Naturally speaking, it is a metaphor for a lesson we are to utilize today. God is telling us to destroy the altars in our life which are not of Him and build an altar to the Lord right there in it’s place. What is an altar in our life? In other words, it is what we are we putting ahead of God in our lives? We can lie to ourselves that God comes first, but if you choose your own desires over God’s will, then you are lying to yourself. Our battle is in the mind…it is in our thinking that we build strongholds…or altars to the enemy… It is what you allow to stay in your mind that will control you… Kenneth Hagin, Sr had a saying, “The birds are going to fly over, but you don’t have to let them build a nest in your hair.” Living in Him, and Him in you definitely is about your thought life first… Who are the gods? (Little g) They are God’s children who are now walking against His Word… To judge unjustly=accept the wrong things…and people who are clearly working for the devil whether they realize it or not?… Some people claim to be working for God, when everything that comes out of their mouth says something else altogether…You cannot be a Christian and speak all kinds of things that do not line up with His will for you… You have a choice and you have to continually make it… My question to you tonight is===Have we been prophesying for the helpless, poor, fatherless, afflicted and needy? Have we been tearing down the wrong altars for others and building the right one? Even for those who don’t understand, we have to prophesy right things over them… This is an except from a prophesy given by well known prophet Kim Clement this month… We are made in God’s image…he spoke and created in Geneses 1…we were given the authority to create just like He did…We are to speak…Our words are seeds… These scriptures are about the wisdom of speaking right words to help us to head the wisdom of the Word and not the failures of the flesh… (Ecclesiastes 10:12) The words of a wise man's mouth are gracious; but the lips of a fool will swallow up himself. (Isaiah 51:16) And I have put my words in thy mouth, and I have covered thee in the shadow of mine hand, that I may plant the heavens, and lay the foundations of the earth, and say unto Zion, Thou art my people. (Isaiah 59:21) As for me, this is my covenant with them, saith the LORD; My spirit that is upon thee, and my words which I have put in thy mouth, shall not depart out of thy mouth, nor out of the mouth of thy seed, nor out of the mouth of thy seed's seed, saith the LORD, from henceforth and forever. (Jeremiah 1:9) Then the LORD put forth his hand, and touched my mouth. And the LORD said unto me, Behold, I have put my words in thy mouth. (Jeremiah 3:12) Go and proclaim these words toward the north, and say, Return, thou backsliding Israel, saith the LORD; and I will not cause mine anger to fall upon you: for I am merciful, saith the LORD, and I will not keep anger forever. (Jeremiah 5:14) Wherefore thus saith the LORD God of hosts, Because ye speak this word, behold, I will make my words in thy mouth fire, and this people wood, and it shall devour them. (Jeremiah 18:2) Arise, and go down to the potter's house, and there I will cause thee to hear my words. (Jeremiah 23:36) And the burden of the LORD shall ye mention no more: for every man's word shall be his burden; for ye have perverted the words of the living God, of the LORD of hosts our God. (Ezekiel 12:28) Therefore say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; There shall none of my words be prolonged any more, but the word which I have spoken shall be done, saith the Lord GOD.
